REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN
Harsh Story May Actually Be Good News for McCain

Comments (0) |

mccain_official.jpgThe New York Times story on John McCain's links with a female lobbyist will have an impact on the nomination fight...but not the one you'd expect.

Whatever you think of the merits of the story or the related piece in The New Republic, the immediate impact is to rally the conservative right FOR McCain.

Conservatives hate nothing more than The New York Times and this is going to be a case of my enemy's enemies are my best friends. That could obviously change if new facts emerge that make it hard for value voters to back McCain, but there's no sign of that yet. In the short term, it will help him unify the party behind his nomination like nothing else could.

Can't wait to hear what Rush has to say about this today...
